Caryn Cast is an artist based in New York City who creates murals, paintings, chalk portraits, and sculptures. Her work balances around people and culinary delights, birds and especially pigeons. She got her start in the NYC art scene by scribbling bizarre portraits on restaurant chalkboards. Nowadays she often credits the inspiration of creating bizarre food illustrations with all the time spent creating chalkboards in local restaurants. Her work also draws inspiration from colorful characters on the subway and nyc eateries to the pigeon community populating the sidewalks.
